Recently (not morethan 1 month) i came to know i have diabetic problem. when i do test 1st time, that was 280 ?

recently (not morethan 1 month) i came to know i have diabetic problem. when i do test 1st time, that was 280 mg/dl in the fasting. then after taken the medicine, within 4 days it is become 100 mg/dl. but recently when i do the test HBA1c (A1) in fasting, that is showing 9.2% in my blood. so what i have to do? is it a serious matter? i have to do futher consultation with doctor? howmany hours i have to be fasting before do the test usually?
