Is it safe to use PVC-free feeding bottles but not labelled BPA-free?

or are they same?? a friend gave me the clic pooh drying rack set & it says: pvc-free & doesnt contain polyvinyl chloride or phthalated. so is it safe even when it doesnt say it's bpa-free? im so confused, mommies! help!
