Aquatic Ecology????????

Im 19, going on 20. im in my 2nd year of colledge, just trying to get all the core cles done. ive expressed great intrest in aquatics. I love my aquaiums, watching fish, keeping and maintainng live plants, fertiliseing them...etc. my next step is to start a saltwater-reef tank. anyways, you get the idea of the type of aquarist i am. im not sure if i want to start my own buisness or not because i work at petsmarts petcare dept, and its too limiting for me on the fish side of things. ive thought about opening my own fish store, but it again, would be too limiting. i want to expand my knowledge about aquatics. my qustion is, can aquatic ecology do that for me? ive looked into marine biolgoy, aquatic biology, and then i came across aquatic ecology. however, i am haveing trouble reserching on this subject, its not as easy as the above. does anybody know anything about aquatic ecology? the term of it just sounds very intresting to me. i wish to study and reserch it. more importantly, i want to see what type of courses and cles i need to take in college if i chose to major in that. also, i REALLY need to know what kind of careres are out there for it. i appreciate any kind of help you may give from explinations, to websites i havent been able to find that will help me explore this topic...anything is most appreciated. thank you!:)
