UK PS User Question regarding update?

Hi i'm from the UK, England, Chester. I can possibly do the update but I tried it twice and it failed around the 50-60% mark. My question is: is it worth me staying up for a couple of hours to go online? Can i expect Europe to be up by then? I have the last 2 Doctor who episodes recorded and I might have a ****, then after try to do the update
